BETON RINGAN POLYSTYRENE UNTUK PANEL DINDING DENGAN METODE PENGEMPAAN
ABSTRACT
Indonesia is a country with relatively high earthquake activity. The selection and use of light weight building materials, is expected to reduce earthquakes load on buildings. The are a number of methods of producing lightweight concrete ; they include the use of lightweight aggregate like polystyrene waste. The use of concrete panels in the construction of houses and high rise buildings is intended to reduce construction time and to save costs. Based on the description above, the author felt the need of conducting research on polystyrene lightweight concrete wall panel with precompression. This study dealt 3 test specimen: Group 1 dealing with concrete compressive strength, Group 2 wit flexural strength and Group 3 with compression strength. Group 1 consists of 3 pieces of cube specimen with dimensions of 7 cm x 7 cm x 7 cm, while Group 2 and 3 each consist of 3 pieces of wall panel specimen with dimensions of 80 cm x 30 cm x 4 cm. Wall panels reinforced with 2 layers of wire 0,6 mm grid 6 mm x 6 mm. In the process of making the specimens a pressure of 2 MPa was introduced. After 28-days -old the specimens were test using tools such as the primary loading frame, load cell , hydraulic jacks, LVDT, and data logger. From the tested it was obtained that: the average compressive strength of polystyrene concrete is 2,72 MPa with an average density of 1.332 kg/m³. According to SNI 03 - 3122-1992 polystyrene concrete panels was categorized as medium- strength lightweight concrete (moderate - strength lightweight concretes ) with an average density of 1.483 kg/m3. Elastic modulus of polystyrene concrete is 278 MPa, flexural strength of polystyrene concrete panels is 4,0423 MPa , flexural rigidity of polystyrene concrete panels is 897,37 N / mm , and the compressive strength of polystyrene concrete panels neached to 4.1367 MPa. Flexural strength and compressive strength of concrete panels with polystyrene at 2 MPa compression is considered to meet the SNI 03-3122-1992.
