Today the impact of the abuse of psychotropic substances in Indonesia can be said to
have reached the situation and conditions are quite Alarming. this due to substances abuse
victims are not just limited to the group of people who are able but also reaching disadvantaged
communities. Psychotropic that should be used only for science and health care, but it has been
abused by people who are not responsible. although many sentencing defendants convicted of
psychotropic even death. psychotropic crime still continues to rise. This is where the police
should be firm in carrying out its duties in dealing with crimes of abuse of psychotropic
substances in the community, because the police have a very important role in the prevention of
crimes of abuse of psychotropic substances. This study uses normative juridical approach that is
descriptive of the data from the literature and from the court concluded in order to obtain an
exact picture of the issues and objectives in research. Based on the discussion of Preventive
Actions Against Crime Police Abuse of Psychotropic In Yogyakarta Police Jurisdiction efforts
made by the police as law enforcement officers that the offense of abuse of psychotropic
substances is inseparable from the factors that influence it. Constraints in combating the crime of
abuse of psychotropic still lack the budget and the quality and quantity of human resources were
still lacking.
